Connection quality & dematerialized GA: tips with agconnect.

The connection quality’s question is a crucial one that comes up every time we talk about connected GAs. Indeed, to achieve a successful dematerialized GA, is the internet connection’s quality an essential basis?

In practice, the context of dematerialized co-ownership general assemblies can sometimes be complex in terms of geographical location, because they are sometimes held in places with very low internet speed (multipurpose room or meeting room in a hotel for example), or even isolated , with very little internet.

In this type of context, the question therefore arises as to whether certain basic functionalities can be properly used, such as videoconferencing and the online voting system.

Two important things to consider: your connection speed, and the one of the remote participants!

First, the good news is that with agconnect, a connection speed of 2 Mbits for each is more than enough. For comparison, ADSL (gradually abandoned) often runs between 2 and 30 Mbits minimum (fiber is commonly between 100 and 900 Mbits) and a 5G phone often runs between 30 and 150 Mbits of speed! So really, it's more a matter of connection speed stability.

And for remote co-owners, they are at home, so generally with a speed 10 to 100 times higher than the minimum necessary!

agconnect advice: the little trick to measure the speed of a particular place: install the free Speedtest Awards application on your mobile, go to the area of your future AG, and measure the speed (very simple, 1 click on the GO button is enough!). You will visualize the speed, in 5G as in WIFI, of the place envisaged, and you will be able to plan your meeting. On the day of the GA, connect to WIFI, and if you are not satisfied, switch to connection sharing on your mobile.

In conclusion, conducting a dematerialized GA even from an isolated place with little internet is not a problem with agconnect. As you will have understood, even a bad connection speed in 2023 is a very good speed for agconnect!

Plus, with more remote attendees, the space you will have to rent out will be smaller, and you'll have more choices of venues with better connection. So, take action and start your connected GA with agconnect!
